Kim Kardashian Is Advised Against Getting Pregnant Again by Two Doctors, Explores Surrogacy on 'KUWTK'

Kim Kardashian clearly wants a third child. On Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the mother of two got candid about her desire to add to her family.

“Obviously I do want to have my own baby, but I feel like I truly don’t know if my body can handle it one more time,” Kim, 36, told her older sister, Kourtney, 37.

When the reality star consulted with two different doctors, both advised her not to get pregnant again.

“You’re always taking a little bit of a chance,” Dr. Crane told Kim. “There are situations where retained placenta could be life or death.”

“You could bleed to death,” momager Kris Jenner not-so-reassuringly reminded her.

And her second specialist, Dr. Wong, said that were she to get pregnant a third time it would be a “high-risk pregnancy.”

Kim took their comments to heart, saying, “If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that. But because I don’t know anyone that has been a surrogate or used one, I didn’t really think about that as an option for me.”

To quell some of her fears, Kim met with another mom named Natalie, who had carried her first child before having twins via a surrogate.

“My bond with my kids is so strong,” Kim explained. “I think my biggest fear is that if I had a surrogate is, would I love them the same? That’s the main thing I keep thinking about. That scares me.”

Natalie assured her that she had nothing to worry about, saying, “There’s not a day where I have any thought that my love for my kids are different, that my connection to my kids is different. You get to carry one and have them close to you, but then the other is because you so desperately wanted them in your family.”

Another appeal of having a child with a surrogate for Kim was the idea of increased secrecy and privacy, since she wouldn’t be pregnant herself.

“I could have a baby and have no one know and live my life for a good year before we announce it,” she told Kris, but added, “I really don’t know if it’s for me. I really don’t.”
