Fifth Harmony announced that Cabello was leaving the group on Dec. 18, saying that they had been informed about the decision from the singer's representatives. Cabello responded the next day, saying that the group's statement was "simply not true."
"I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing," she wrote. "The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was 'leaving the group' is simply not true."
Sources told ET amid the back and forth, however, that the other members of Fifth Harmony -- Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei and Dinah Jane -- made repeated efforts to meet with Cabello about their future as a group, which the Cuban-born singer refused.
