Miranda Lambert is getting real.
The 33-year-old country singer made a crack about her split from ex-husbandBlake Shelton during a performance in Evansville, Indiana, last week by way of introducing her new song, "Ugly Lights."
"I did write this next song, it's a new one, too," she told the crowd. "I got divorced last year, so I started drinking a little extra."
Pausing to raise her glass to the audience before taking a swig, she quipped, "S**t happens, you know?"
"Anyway, I moved to Nashville and I started spending too much time at the Midtown bars," she continued, "and I realized that I was taking an Uber for the third day in a row to pick up my Jeep -- I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I smelled like smoke and I was wearing clothes from yesterday and I was like, 'This is three days in a row. This is probably a problem.'"
“Ugly Lights” is featured on Lambert’s latest album, The Weight of These Wings, in which the two-time GRAMMY winner gets personal about adjusting to life after her marriage crumbled, and the early days of her current relationship with boyfriend Anderson East.
So far, 2017 seems to be off to a great start for the "Vice" singer. Lambert is kicking off her Highway Vagabond Tour and she's up for two GRAMMYs in the Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance categories at the upcoming ceremony.
