The Nashville star turned 50 years old on Monday, taking to Instagram to share a sweet message after being "overwhelmed" by her fans' birthday wishes, and encouraging those who can to give back in celebration of her big day.
"Y'all today is my birthday. And it's a big one," Britton wrote alongside a cute photo of herself next to a giant cake. "I could not feel more grateful for the amazing people in my life who shape me and that includes all of you. I have been overwhelmed by your birthday wishes."
"I am left feeling blessed and also inspired to give back. I always like to give on my birthday because as far as I'm concerned, I'm the one who wants to say thanks," she continued.
"So this year, since it's a big one, I've created a fundraising page on Crowdrise, my birthday wish page. I've joined with the International Rescue Committee to create an education fund. You can read all about it on the link in my bio," she concluded. "And if you're inspired to give, well I'll just feel so honored. And so grateful. Thank you for helping to make every day of this life such a gift."
Fans weren't the only ones to wish Britton a happy birthday. The actress' former Nashville co-star, Charles Esten, took to Twitter, alongside Britton's pals, Carla Gugino and Jennifer Esposito, to send the actress their best wishes.
Britton is all about giving back to her fans. The mother of one took to Instagram after her character's shocking Nashville exit to pay tribute to the show's dedicated viewers with a sweet message. See more in the video below.
