Will Smith
is happy to help son Jaden get ready for a new project in any way he can -- even if it means cutting off all his hair!

The Suicide Squad star took to Facebook on Tuesday to share a few photos from the dramatic haircut, which show Will excitedly holding up the massive bundle of blonde dreads he'd just cut off.

"Getting Jaden Smith ready for the first day of filming #LifeInAYear," Smith wrote. "Maybe I should’ve used scissors?!"

Jaden is beginning production on a new romantic drama, Life In A Year, starring opposite Cara Delevingne and Terrence Howard.

One fan who happened to run into Will and Jaden on Tuesday snapped a few pics with the pair, and revealed the 18-year-old actor's super close-cut conservative new 'do.

In Life In a Year, Jaden stars as a 17-year-old kid who finds out his girlfriend only has a year to live, so he sets out to show her a year's worth of life experiences in the time she has left. The film is expected to hit theaters next year.
