'X Factor' Judges Shrug Off 'Voice' Competition

As The X Factor nears the premiere of its second season with a highly anticipated revamped judging table, there has been plenty of excitement from fans but also media hoopla about the last-minute decision of the show's competitor, The Voice, to air a third show during X Factor's premiere.

With the premiere only a day away, ET caught up with judges L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato at FOX's Eco-Casino party to hear their thoughts on their competitor's seemingly ill-spirited move to ostensibly deflect viewership of X Factor's premiere.

"I think we have to concentrate on our show," said Reid, who was a judge on the show's first season. "We have to concentrate on our contestants and making sure that our show is great."

Lovato, who recently joined the show for its second season, echoed Reid's comments.

"At the end of the day, it's not a competition between shows. It's really a competition about the contestants," the 20-year-old pop star said. "We have to make sure we find somebody that's worth $5 million and deserves to win this competition, so we're too busy focusing [on] that to even worry about it."

As for the show itself and their roles as judges, the two revealed that there is some friction amongst the judging table and they have had some "moments," but they stated they are generally getting along well despite retorts from outspoken judge Simon Cowell.

"It's funny: last year Simon and I bickered. This year, [Demi] and Simon are bickering," Reid said to Lovato's affirmation. "I think that's the prerequisite to being a successful judge: taking on Simon."
