Oscar winner Marisa Tomei has been tapped for a recurring role on Fox's smash hip hop drama, ETonline confirms. The brunette beauty will play Mimi Whiteman, a demanding venture capitalist -- and Forbes list billionairess! -- who quickly gets entangled in the Lyon family drama.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Mimi is labeled as a lover of "hip hop music, social trends, high-end fashion, and beautiful women." Based on this description, we have a feeling that Mimi and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will either be fast friends or vicious foes – and we can't wait to find out!
Empire‘s sophomore season debuts Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
