We're flying high with excitement for fans to see Supergirl!
CBS' highly anticipated superhero drama does not debut for another three months, but trust us when we tell you that it's worth the wait.
To help curb your cravings, ETonline caught up with Supergirl star Melissa Benoist at Comic-Con to talk about the high levels of responsibility that come with stepping into the shoes -- or should we say cape? -- of Kara Zor-El.
Benoist is well aware that comic book fans are very passionate and particular of how their favorite heroes are portrayed on screen, and the former Glee gal wants to assure viewers that she is going to protect this iconic character.
"Just to put it simply, we're not going to let you down," she spilled in our ET suite at Comic-Con. "We all care about this so much and we've got the perfect team supporting us with [executive producers] Ali Adler, and Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter. We're all just having so much fun too and I think you're going to see how much fun we're having."

In a TV world that's overrun with male-lead superhero shows, (Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Daredevil, etc.) the 26-year-old actress is excited to show just how fierce and multi-faceted female superheroes can be.
"It's a daunting feeling but in the best way," the brunette beauty said of becoming a role model for young girls out there. "It obviously feels like a responsibility, but I love that I can do it in this way that [Kara is] quirky, and kind of weird, and flawed, and funny."
Benoist continued, "In a way, Kara is discovering herself right now when we meet her in the pilot, and I'm glad that I get to show girls that you can do anything you want to do."
Supergirl premieres Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
