Blake Shelton Warns a Teenage 'Voice' Contestant That 'Men Lie'
Seventeen-year-old Ivonne Acero tried out for The Voice last year, but when she didn't make it through, judge Blake Shelton encouraged her to try again next year.
Acero kept him to his word, returning to the competition this year with a soulful rendition of Taylor Swift's "Style" that impressed judges Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani enough to turn their chairs...but not Blake's.

After Shelton copped to remembering Acero from her previous audition, she called him out, saying, "You said you'd turn for me!" Shelton, however, offered no apologies about breaking his promise.
"You're very young right?" he asked Acero, who confirmed that she was 17. "You need to already understand that men lie."
"Especially Blake!" fellow judge Adam Levine chimed in.
It's interesting advice from the recently-divorced country star, who announced his split from Miranda Lambert back in July in a joint statement that said, "This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."

On Wednesday, Shelton opened up about the divorce for the first time -- revealing how he and Lambert kept their speedy split under wraps.
"In Oklahoma it happens so fast," the singer marveled on the Bobby Bones Radio Show. "Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was a nine or 10-day waiting period until it's over."
Their marriage might be over, but Shelton said a friendly attitude helped make the split as smooth a transition as possible.

"Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this, it is what it is," he said. "We're buddies."
