'How to Get Away With Murder': Seriously, We Need to Talk About Christophe

By
ABC

How to Get Away With Murder featured romantic reconciliations, surprising hookups and an ongoing cyber war with serial killer/blackmailer Philip (Jefferson White) on Thursday, but, as usual, the episode saved its most shocking moment for last.

“Did you know this whole time?” Laurel (Karla Souza) asked, confronting Annalise (Viola Davis) after she and Wes (Alfred Enoch) returned from Ohio, where they went looking for clues about his mother’s suicide and the possible connection to their law professor, who knew her just before she died.

While Wes thinks they came up empty-handed, Laurel shows Annalise a sheet she stole from his mother’s file, which notes that the case may actually be a homicide and lists “victim’s 12-year-old son,” Wes a.k.a. Christophe, as the primary suspect.

“Is it true?” Laurel asks. “Did Wes kill his mother?”

To this point, all that Wes has recounted of his mother’s death is that he remembers finding her body, bloodied and lifeless. But, as the episode ends with young Wes/Christophe standing over his dying mother, blood-stained knife in hand, it seems the truth may be even more horrifying.
