Mischa Barton on Disappointing 'Dancing With the Stars' Performances: 'I'm Not a Quitter'
The 'DWTS' hopeful talked to ET about her disappointing scores and her future on the show.
After ending up in the bottom three on Monday's Dancing With the Stars, Mischa Barton spoke with ET about her future on the show.
"I'm not a quitter but at the same time, I was like, 'I don't know!' Barton admitted. "But ultimately I'm not a quitter, so we'll keep powering through and find our rhythm and get these dances."
The 30-year-old actress had a rough night Monday, when she and her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev, tried to improve on their lackluster premiere performance with a lively cha cha, but couldn’t quite make it work.
Barton, who seemed shaken by the strongly negative feedback she got from judge Len Goodman last week, appeared to be unhappy during rehearsals and things didn't get better for the duo during their dance.
Barton and Chigvintsev ended up getting a score of 15 out of 30 -- one point lower than their score last week -- however the judge's criticism seemed slightly more positive this time around.
"It's nice to have somebody say something positive for sure," Barton told ET. She admitted, however, that the low score still hurt.
"I think my confidence was knocked a little bit as well, because it was tough this week, but we'll get there," the actress explained. "We're building our team confidence."
While Barton might not have gotten a lot of love from the judges, her former co-star on The O.C., Rachel Bilson, showed her support on Instagram last week with a photo of Bilson on DWTS, which she captioned, Got to give it up for @mischamazing takes balls. Get it guurrrrlll!"
"So many people have been really supportive," Barton said, when asked about Bilson's post. "It's amazing, really, truly."
During the season 22 premiere last Monday, Barton's performance was referred to as "slightly sedated" by judge Bruno Toniloi, while Goodman said her tango "wasn't dance, that was walking." Check out the video below to hear more.
