Felicity Jones Struggles to Get a Laugh Out of Stormtroopers in New 'Star Wars'-Themed 'SNL' Promo

The 'Rogue One' star is hosting 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend, and the force isn't exactly with her in this adorably awkward promo.

Felicity Jones
faces a tough crowd in a new Star Wars-themed promo for her upcoming turn hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend.

In the short teaser, the Rogue One heroine is rehearsing the opening line of her monologue on the Studio 8H stage when she asks the audience -- made up entirely of Stormtroopers -- if they think she's ready, and she's met with a resounding shrug of indifference.

"Thank guys, you're a real bunch of troopers," the English thespian jokes to a chorus of groans and boos at the cheesy pun.

It was a fun promo -- and one that hints at the possibility of the upcoming show containing at least a few Star Wars sketches.

After all, when Adam Driver hosted SNL after The Force Awakens hit theaters, fans got one of the best sketches of the season -- "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base," which saw driver hilariously reprise his role as Kylo Ren, as well as his "undercover" alter ego, Matt the Radar Technician.

One thing we’re likely to see this week is Alec Baldwin reprising his celebrated impression of President-Elect Donald Trump, especially considering Trump's ongoing Russian dossier scandal and the fact that he just conducted his first press conference as president-elect.

Some fans are also holding out hope that former castmemeber Jay Pharaoh could make a surprise cameo as President Obama, given his recent emotional farewell address.

Jones, who is making her SNL hosting debut, is joined by musical guest (and fellow SNL first-timer) Sturgill Simpson. The following week, Master of None star Aziz Ansari is set to host, with musical guest Big Sean.
