While Jane the Virgin fans are mourning Michael Cordero after Monday's heartbreaking episode, the cast of the CW series is missing their friend.
Michael himself, Brett Dier, took to social media shortly after his character met his fate -- succumbing to complications from a gunshot wound earlier in the season -- to pay tribute to the "life changing experience"of working on the show.
"I have had such an incredible time on this show. It was one of the biggest moments of my life. Playing Michael has been a life changing experience, and I'm so thankful for it," Dier wrote, alongside a sweet photo of himself holding balloons reading "Long Live Michael."
"I appreciate all my fans support, and all the beautiful tweets and comments about my characters journey. This cast and crew, writers and directors, I will never forget. You guys are truly incredible people. And I'm so glad I got to meet you, grow with you and have you all in my life. Most giving, generous group I've ever encountered. I will love you all forever," he continued, saying Michael will "always" be in his heart. "So grateful."
Gina Rodriguez shared several emotional posts of her own on Monday, as she said goodbye to her on-screen husband.
"You are my partner in artistic crime. We did two plus seasons together and I will never have the words to express how you changed my life. Thankyou @brettdier #teamMichaelForever #janethevirgin #DreamComeTrueActingPartner," she captioned a sweet photo of the two, before sharing a video Dier recorded in character on her phone the night they shot the tragic scene.
"There wasn't a day I didn't look forward to coming to set and laughing with you brother. You are my favorite (and only) alien friend I've ever had, and this journey wouldn't have been anything close to as happy, fun or meaningful without you," Justin Baldoni wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the cast. "You were my first bromance and no one will ever replace you- not even the super handsome and charming @jaimecamil."
"I can't wait to see what you do next! Hollywood - if you are reading this...get ready because @BrettDier is the future. I love you man. We already miss you so much dude. This was Tough. #TeamMichael forever," he concluded, while Jaime Camil posted the same photo with the simple caption, "We adore you @brettdier ❤ You are everything."
