The 39-year-old actor was optimistic that the couple could eventually work things out, but it sounds like they both have to do some major soul searching and it’s going to take some time.

“It just means that maybe they’re gonna have to shift and reset,” Ventimiglia explained. “Here’s a couple [who] loves each other, they do deeply, but they’ve found themselves in a moment of disrepair and they gotta figure it out. They gotta figure themselves out and they have to figure each other out.”

The final scene of the finale ended with Jack’s heart-wrenching speech to his wife, where he declared that she was his “big break” in life. “Our love story, I know it may not feel like it right now, I promise you it’s just getting started,” Jack said.

Moore spoke about the significance of that final scene, revealing that Jack’s monologue was a sweet callback to their vows.

“That’s an echo back to their wedding vows, which I think is supremely romantic,” the 32-year-old actress shared.

“I don’t know if people truly picked up on the fact that my character singing ‘Moonshadow’ [at the pub when they first met] and he gave me the together moon necklace to signify our song – the song I was singing when he first locked eyes and met each other,” Moore continued. “I think it’s a sweet little detail.”
