'The Bachelorette': One Suitor Is Sent Home After the Most Heartbreaking Hometown Date In Franchise History

Rachel Lindsay can't help but keep it 100!

The 32-year-old attorney lived her personal motto during Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette, when she sent one suitor home after the most heartbreaking hometown date in Bachelor franchise history.

The episode opened with Eric's hometown date in Baltimore, Maryland, which went exactly how we expected it to(fine), until Eric's aunt saved the day, engaged in a powerful, meaningful conversation with Rachel about race and the expectations she faces as the first black Bachelorette.

Next was Bryan, whose Miami hometown date we were a little nervous about as he previously warned Rachel about how his last relationship crumbled after his girlfriend didn't get along with his mother.

This wasn't an issue for Rachel whatsoever, as the attorney brought Bryan's mom to tears during their one-on-one conversation, in which she gave Rachel the stamp of approval -- despite amazingly calling her son out for dating a bunch of girls before falling in love on TV.

Rachel headed to Madison, Wisconsin, next, to meet Peter and (some of) his black friends. And yes, apparently he really does have a lot of them.

"He said, 'I have 10 really close friends, and eight out of 10 are black!" Rachel told his friends when they all sat down to chit chat. "Then she hits me with like, the most serious question, like, 'So how do you feel about dating black women?" Peter cracked.

Rachel served up another tough question, however, while meeting Peter's mom, when she asked if he was really ready for marriage -- after Peter confessed earlier in the episode that he's "f**king terrified" to propose. His mom, however, was a little wishy-washy, declaring that he was ready to commit to someone and have kids, but maybe not propose. What?!

Then came Dean, and yes, this was THE MOST HEARTBREAKING HOMETOWN IN BACHELOR FRANCHISE HISTORY.

Before meeting the family, Dean explained to Rachel that since his mother's death, his father had become a Sikh, giving himself the name Paramrup, and was now married to a new woman, named Santantar. He and his father had not spoken in two years, and Rachel seemed determine to improve their relationship, bringing organic seeds as a gift as Dean and his family sat in a circle on the floor.

"I'm suppressing every single emotion I'm trying to feel," Dean said of his father's new lifestyle.

Rachel saw a glimmer of hope to repair the relationship when Dean's dad broke down while presenting her and Dean with feathers in honor of his mom, Debbie -- but that glimmer dimmed when Dean and his dad sat down for some one-on-one time.

"Do you feel like as a father, you're still fulfilling things?" Dean asked his dad, who said he "absolutely" stepped up after Dean's mom died 11 years ago.

"When mom passed away, I was 15 years old at the most vulnerable point in my life," Dean tried to explain, adding that he was "angry" that his family didn't come together to support him.

"There's really no need to have his conversation," his dad replied. "Whatever you think of me is really what you think of yourself. You still got one f**king foot stuck in the past."

Rachel tried to remedy the situation with Dean's dad outside, who just declared, "This doesn't work."

Despite the family drama, however (or maybe because of it, if you ask Rachel), Dean told Rachel that he ended the date by telling Rachel that he was falling in love with her, before Rachel broke the franchise's cardinal rule (have you learned nothing from Ben Higgins?!) and told him she was falling in love with him as well.

Rachel's sweet confession seemed to only make things worse at the rose ceremony, as she handed out roses to Bryan, Peter and Eric, sending Dean home brokenhearted.

"I told you I was falling in love with you, and you said you felt the same things," he confronted her before stepping into the limo.

"I thought she meant it," he continued on his ride home.

We're here for you, Dean! But we're also here for Rachel's sister on next week's episode because she looks like she is giving her sister a run for her money in the "keeping it 100" department.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
