Wendy Williams Releases PSA for Addiction Treatment: 'There Is Hope, I Am Proof'

The daytime talk show host is working to provide resources for those suffering from addiction.

Wendy Williams has released a new public service announcement, offering assistance to individuals suffering from drug addiction or substance abuse.

In the new clip, the daytime talk show host is seated in her purple chair where she presents viewers with the helpline for The Hunter Foundation, which her family founded — 1-888-5-hunter.

"The calls are being answered by specially-trained, certified recovery coaches," she said of the hotline. "They’re very smart. They conduct screenings to your needs. The substance abuse will be taken care of. We will provide you referrals for long or short-term treatment at facilities all around the world — detox, rehab, sober living and out-patient centers."

Later, she encourages viewers who need help to take the important step to seek help and better their situation, nodding to her own battle with addiction.

"If you’re an addict or a substance abuser don’t be ashamed," the 54-year-old TV personality states. "Help is here for you, or a family member, or a loved one. Call, don’t be ashamed. There is hope. I’m living proof."

According to the foundation, since the line’s launch on March 11, they’ve already received as many as 10,000 calls and among as many as 400 calls have resulted in patients being placed in treatment centers.

"We must all come together to respond to this crisis of addiction and substance abuse," Williams said in a press release in March amid the hotline's launch. "Everyone is at risk from the inner cities to more affluent communities. My family and I are very proud to partner with T.R.U.S.T. to get people the help that they so desperately need, especially if they or their families have given up hope. There is hope."

Besides her own advocacy for others seeking treatment, Williams herself has checked into a sober living house in recent weeks
