Jason Momoa Pitches '50 First Dates' Sequel Idea to Drew Barrymore

The action star is angling for a rom-com role.

Jason Momoa has a big idea for a 50 First Dates sequel. The 44-year-old actor appears on Wednesday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, and tells the host what he envisions for a follow-up to her and Adam Sandler's 2004 film, which she counts as her favorite rom-com she's starred in.

"Maybe Fifty More Dates," Momoa says of a rom-com he'd like to remake. "You need to come back to the islands and meet a Hawaiian man."

Barrymore assures Momoa that she "would do that," exclaiming, "Of course, are you kidding?"

Until Momoa finds the right rom-com to star in, he's busy promoting his upcoming film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. When ET spoke to the actor earlier this month, he gushed about playing the character.

"I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time," he said. "I kind of see where I would want it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, like there's a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world."

"I had roles before, [but] they're nothing like this," Momoa added. "You have kids coming up, really excited to see you, and adults. But at the end of the day, my passion growing up was always about the oceans, and being Polynesian, and being an activist. It's cool because I get to like do that in my real life and [playing Aquaman] also obviously puts [those interests on] a higher platform."

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits theaters on Dec. 22.
