When you've got mom's OK, you're in.

Justin Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, has high praise for her son's relationship with Selena Gomez, as the two recently began dating again.

Speaking to People magazine, Mallette said of Gomez, "I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her."

She also elaborated on a connection she shares with Gomez. “I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious. I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them.”

Bieber accompanied his mom to the Justice Speaks Holiday Benefit Luncheon in Los Angeles on Saturday, where she was a keynote speaker. He also shared an Instagram of the two on the carpet, with the caption, "Love you mom!! So proud of you and your heart for people.. you inspire me to be better."

The "Sorry" singer's relationship with Malette hasn't been perfect though. In a 2015 interview with Billboard magazine, the then 21-year-old admitted that his connection with his mother was "pretty nonexisting," blaming their distance on his headline-making bad boy behavior.

"I was distant because I was ashamed," he explained. "I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was. We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust."

But it appears the relationship is on the mend. Malette also told People that the "Despacito" singer is working on finding a balance in his life in the wake of canceling his tour to focus on his mental health.

"I think he’s just keeping his focus on God, and really trying to figure out what counts and what matters,” Malette said. "“I think he’s trying to be somehow normal in such an abnormal world, trying to find that balance. I feel like he’s growing up and I’m really proud of him.”

As far as his relationship with Gomez, she didn't share many details, but indicates that having a partner is helpful for Bieber.

“I think anyone with real love in their life is more grounded,” said Mallette. “I think there’s so much confusion sometimes and facade in this Hollywood world, and so it’s important for us to find the ones that truly care and stick with them.”

In addition to supporting his mom with her charity work, Bieber is also involved in different philanthropic endeavors. Most recently he posted an Instagram about his plans to help firefighters and victims of the Southern California wildfires.

"I can use my resources to figure out ways to get some sort of restoration in certain communities and fundraisers or whatever we can do. So I am going to get on that," he said in the post.
