Kate Middleton stepped out in London on Thursday for her final day of public engagements before taking a much-deserved break.

Kensington Palace confirmed to ET that the 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who is due to give birth next month, will be going on maternity leave following her local outing with husband, Prince William.

Kate stepped out in black trousers, matching heels, a black-and-white Hobbs printed top with a cream coat by Goat, a brand frequently worn by the Duchess. The look was more casual than her recent maternity ensembles as she attended the SportsAid event.

William sported a navy suit as he traveled with his pregnant wife to Olympic Park. The couple grinned and greeted onlookers on their way inside.

While there, the Duke of Cambridge tried out some wheelchair basketball, alongside players hoping to compete in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Wills was able to sink a shot, much to the delight of the other players and to Kate, who proudly stood by his side.

The couple also participated in a Commonwealth Quiz, testing their knowledge of the Commonwealth Games while on opposing teams. They are later heading to St. Luke’s Community Center in London to help prepare for a Commonwealth Big Lunch.

Kate's final public appearance follows what’s been a very eventful third trimester. After going on the Royal Tour of Sweden and Norway in late January through early February, the Duchess has made several public appearances on behalf of the royal family.

In addition to her own engagements, she’s also teamed up with her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, and future-sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, for the Royal Foundation Forum in late February. She also attended the Commonwealth Service alongside the Royal Family earlier this month.

She also stepped out in a mint green Jenny Packham coat on Wednesday for a symposium discussing childhood mental health.
