ET FilmFeed: 'Ghostbusters' Coming Back to Theaters for 30th Anniversary

Ghostbusters is returning to the big screen and more in ET's FilmFeed.

*Thirty years ago on June 8, 1984, Ghostbusters opened in theaters nationwide and became an instant classic. Now, Sony Pictures is also celebrating the 30th anniversary with an August 29 big-screen release of a newly restored and remastered Ghostbusters in more than 700 theaters nationwide. Collectible merchandise and a new home-entertainment release are also planned: The Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray and the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray will be available on September 16 (the first time the 1989 sequel has been released on Blu-ray, with special features that include new conversations with director Ivan Reitman and Aykroyd, as well as deleted scenes). Is there trouble in paradise for Jupiter Ascending? This summer's upcoming sci-fi fantasy spectacle from The Wachowskis (the duo behind The Matrix trilogy) starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis has been pushed back at the last minute from its July 18 release, with a new release date of Feb. 6, 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. reportedly wanted to allow more time to complete the special effects.*

In Star Wars news, it was announced Wednesday that Chronicle director Josh Trank has been tapped to direct the second-announced Star Wars stand-alone film.*

On September 30, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will honor one of the most celebrated motion pictures of all time with the Gone with the Wind
