Michael Lohan Not Surprised Lindsay Got Arrested

Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Thursday morning in New York City following a physical altercation with another woman and we spoke with her father Michael about the latest incident, which he said could have been avoided.  

In a statement, Lohan told ET that the arrest would not have happened if Dina Lohan had participated in his attempted intervention last month. "I told you exactly what would happen and was trying to get Dina on board with me for a long time, but especially the last two weeks," he said. "If she had, I wish to god, she would stop and resolve things with us to do the same for our children."

Lohan said some of the people close to Lindsay have tried unsuccessfully to help her. It's really sad that the same good people like Gavin (Lindsay's assistant) are always there for her, and the ones that care are the ones she hurts the most."

Lindsay's father added that his daughter is currently in a "dark place" and her well-being is now "in god's hands."

"Lindsay is acting out in numerous ways because she needs us and internally she's hurt and angry," he said, adding,. "Again, it's all on (Lindsay's mother) Dina."

Dina also spoke exclusively
to ET after Lindsay's arrest and criticized her ex-husband for rushing
to the media instead of trying to resolve Lindsay's issues privately.
