A good friend of Robin Williams, Billy Crystal will present a tribute to him at the 2014 Primetime Emmys on Monday, August 25.
The beloved actor was found dead on August 11 after committing suicide, stunning Hollywood and fans alike. So it is only fitting that Robin's close friend lead the tribute. The Emmys’ executive producer Don Mischer confirmed that Billy will make the remembrance "proper and meaningful."
Fellow comedians and friends, Billy and Robin most recently starred together in Father's Day and have been friends for more than 20 years.
Upon learning of Robin's death, Billy wrote on Twitter, "no words."
The two made a comedic trio with their friend Whoopi Goldberg who we can also assume will be there to remember Williams at the event.
For the musical portion of the In Memoriam, Sara Bareiles will play. She dedicated her song "Hercules," about her own struggle with depression, to Williams and his family in concert after the news of his death broke.
Hollywood and people all over the country have been remembering Williams, and this tribute is set to be a special one.
