The royal couple met with the members of One Direction before the Royal Variety Performance in London on Thursday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shook hands with the members of the boy band, including frontman Harry Styles -- who was decked out in a super formal animal print jacket and black jeans.
Kate, who is already 16 weeks pregnant, was barely showing at all under her beautifully elegant black, Diane von Furstenberg lace gown.

Prince William looked as royal and stately as ever in a traditional tuxedo, and seemed as giddy as his wife upon meeting Styles and his 1D bandmates Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne.
One Direction was one of the many artists to take the stage at the 2014 Royal Variety Performance. "Don't" singer Ed Sheeran, music icon Bette Midler and "Lights" singer Ellie Goulding also performed. This may have been awkward seeing as Sheeran has implied that Niall Horan hooked up with Goulding while he was dating her.

Goulding has a special relationship with the Prince and the Duchess, as she sang a cover of Elton John's "Your Song" for the couple's first dance during their wedding reception in 2011.
The annual Royal Variety Performance raises money for the Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund, an organization that provides help for entertainers across the UK when they come across difficult times due to ill-health or financial hardships.

In early September, Kate and William announced that they were expecting again through a statement released by Kensington Palace that read, "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that their royal highnesses are expecting their second child."
