With all the chaos that's been surrounding Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner since their divorce announcement, it's not a huge surprise that the Boston native chose to have a relatively calm, family-focused birthday.
Affleck, who turned 43 on Saturday, flew to Orlando, Florida, with his wife and three children, Seraphina, 9, Violet, 6, and Samuel, 3.
The Batman v Superman star brought his brood to Universal Orlando Resort. Excited fans have been tweeting about their sightings, including seeing Garner at Harry Potter World. Affleck was sporting his much-seen Detroit City t-shirt and a baseball cap, while Garner wore a striped tee and sun hat.
The family of five traveled to the theme park from Atlanta, where Garner is currently filming Miracles From Heaven. Affleck left Los Angeles on Thursday to make the trek to the Southeast, where he has visited a couple of times since the 43-year-old actress began working in Georgia. This trip, he stayed with his family in Garner's rental home, while last week, the two stayed in separate locations.
While last year's birthday was also all about the kids, it was definitely a bigger affair when Affleck turned 42. In 2014, Garner threw a party for her husband at their home in Los Angeles' Brentwood neighborhood, which was attended by a small number of friends and family, including Matt Damon, his wife and their kids.
Affleck's big day comes in the middle of a strenuous time for the couple, as they're trying to navigate their separation in a way that puts the kids first. The exes, who announced they were divorcing on June 30, have even continued to wear their wedding rings.
At the same time, Affleck and Garner are also coping with a nanny scandal as their former employee, Christine Ouzoudian, is courting paparazzi after making claims that she had an affair with Affleck, a rumor his camp vehemently denies.
