Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are still technically married.
Although Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom almost two years ago, they are not officially divorced, ET can confirm.
The exes' legal status could have big implications going forward, given that the 35-year-old NBA star is currently hospitalized and is reportedly in "serious" condition after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada on Tuesday. Celebrity divorce attorney Vikki Ziegler tells ET that Khloe could potentially still make medical decisions for Lamar.

The 31-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star originally filed for divorce in December 2013. But when Odom refused to respond to her initial paperwork, she was forced to seek a default judgment. In April, the judge threatened to dismiss the divorce case if Khloe didn't complete paperwork to finalize the split, and in July, court records showed that the two both signed the legal documents that would officially end their marriage.
However, court records show that although the judgment package was filed and received on July 17, the case has not been finalized, and the official status of their divorce is still pending.
"If they have a medical directive, it would be whoever is assigned to his medical decisions [but] if there is no medical directive, Khloe may have the ability to make decisions on his behalf until the stipulation is signed by the judge," Ziegler, the founder of divorcedating.com, says. "There may be a fight between Lamar's family and her as it relates to what should happen to him medically, and that may become a problem."
Ziegler also says that it appears the two resolved their issues in the divorce, and were just waiting for it to become official.
"There is a stipulation of judgment submitted to the court, which means they resolved all issues in their divorce, and they're just waiting for the judge to sign it," Ziegler explains. "I assume that each party will walk away with their own assets or debts, and if that's the case, then Lamar's kids would inherit his portion of the assets that he may take away from the marriage."
Lamar has two children from a previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales -- 17-year-old Destiny and 13-year-old Lamar Jr. In 2006, their third child, Jayden, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome when he was six months old.
Multiple sources tell ET that Khloe is now in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been at Lamar's bedside since 8 p.m. on Tuesday. While Lamar and the Kardashians have had their ups and downs in the press, another source tells ET exclusively that the Kardashian family "still loves Lamar."
"Lamar is not a bad person, he just has very bad demons," the source says, referring to speculation that Odom had allegedly been facing substance abuse problems in recent years. "When Lamar is good, he's good. But when he's bad, there's no way of getting any worse."
Khloe is "beside herself" over Lamar's hospitalization, another source tells ET.
Khloe and Lamar married in September 2009, after meeting just one month earlier. They split in December 2013.

"I'm not rushing into my divorce because I'm not looking to get married tomorrow, so I don't have a deadline," Khloe told Complex magazine in July. "I'm not rushing it. So when it's time and it’s supposed to happen, it will."
"Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I've ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him," she added. "I think Lamar's gonna always be that person [for me] but that's what made it so special. Even if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I'm grateful I did. Some people don't get that ever and I had that magic for a long time."
