While her parents were getting political, she was being a teenager!

While President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were stumping for Hillary Clinton this week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, you might have noticed that their daughter Malia was absent from the festivities. Now we know why.

The 18-year-old soon-to-be Harvard student was having a ball at Lollapalooza in Chicago!

Fellow concertgoers snapped Malia rocking out to Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat on Thursday.

Journalist and WBEZ web producer Andrew Gill also got a pic of Malia's Secret Service detail fitted out in their best dad wear.

"I dig the Secret Service's casual plaid look," Gill tweeted.

Author Evie Manieri was especially supportive of Malia's trip, tweeting, "Malia Obama skipping the DNC for Lollapalooza proves that her parents see her as a person and not a prop. I approve this message."

This isn't the first time Malia has attended the annual festival, having been spotted at Lollapalooza in 2014 checking out hometown artist Chance the Rapper.

This follows Malia's high school graduation last month, where the commander-in-chief proved he's just like any other proud dad, presenting his eldest daughter with a bouquet of white roses and a giant hug.
