Stephen Colbert Responds to Gwen Stefani Flubbing His Name: She's 'Evidently Not a Huge Fan'

Despite all his accolades, there are still people out there who aren't familiar with Stephen Colbert, as the world found out Monday night at the Emmys.

Stefani mispronounced the funnyman's name while announcing his show as the Outstanding Variety Series, but Colbert took it all in stride backstage.

"[She's] evidently not a huge fan of the show," Colbert told ET's Nancy O'Dell with a smile. "But I'm a huge fan of hers. I want to get her abs. That's what I aspire to."

Colbert, who is taking over CBS' Late Show from a retiring David Letterman next year, continued to have fun with the mistake, referring to Stefani as Stephanie for the rest of the night.

While Stefani learned a new name on Monday night, we also picked up a few nuggets of knowledge. Here are a few things we learned at the Emmys: Sofia Vergara walked the red carpet without boyfriend Joe Manganiello so as not to take attention away from Modern Family, and the Emmys taking place on a Monday was actually okay for ratings, as the show pulled in 15.6 million viewers.
