The nominations for the 2016 American Music Awards are in!
The artist to watch this year definitely seems to be Drake, who broke Michael Jackson's 32-year-old AMA record for most nominations in a single year with 13 nods -- two more than the 11 nominations the late King of Pop scored in 1984.

If the 29-year-old "Hotline Bling" rapper wins in any category, it will mark his first AMA win.
Right behind Drake was his girlfriend, Rihanna, who nabbed seven nominations, and Justin Bieber could also etch his name in the AMA record books if he wins Artist of the Year for the third time. That number would tie current record holder Taylor Swift.
The AMAs, the world's biggest fan-voted awards show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
