Blake Shelton Jokingly Burns Luke Bryan Over His Offer to Officiate His Wedding (Exclusive)

These two never shy away from publicly hurling insults at each other -- but it's all in good fun!

Blake Shelton doesn’t recommend getting his pal Luke Bryan to officiate weddings!

After Bryan recently told ET that he would like to officiate the ceremony if Shelton ever ties the knot with his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, Shelton responded to the offer while talking to ET’s Sophie Schillaci on Monday.

“Luke's not even a legitimate country artist, much less like somebody that can marry people, you know what I'm saying,” Shelton good-heartedly declared while promoting the season four premiere of the NBC singing competition The Voice.

The jibe came after Shelton and fellow coach Kelly Clarkson debated whether a wedding officiated by Bryan or Shelton -- who has also wed couples in the past -- was “real.”

“If you want [the wedding] to be real, maybe you should get, like, a real [officiant,]” Clarkson said. “Because we thought about Blake doing my husband and I [but] I [wanted] it to be real.”

As it turns out, Bryan himself doesn't disagree with their assessment!

ET's Lauren Zima told the American Idol judge about Shelton's reaction to his proposal after the ABC show's first live elimination on Monday night, to which he laughed, "You know what, of all the smart -- that may be the smartest thing he's ever done."

Nevertheless, Bryan made the offer while talking to ET at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas earlier this month.

"I'll do the sermon. The sermon? The service?" Bryan said. "I would be honored to marry Blake and Gwen."

"If Blake were smart, he would marry her before she goes to an optometrist," the singer hilariously added. "Every time I meet Gwen, she's holding her phone way out here. I'm like, 'That's it, she can't see!'"
