'Bridgerton' Co-Stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton Hold Hands on Red Carpet While Promoting Season 3

Lady whistledown may have something to say about this!

On Sunday, Bridgerton stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton attended a launch event for the third season of the Netflix series at Milton Park Country House in Bowral, Australia -- and they offered each other additional support.

On the carpet, the Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton, and Newton, who portrays Colin Bridgerton, held hands while posing for photos. Coughlan wore a chic off-the-shoulder black dress, while Newton layered a neutral-colored trench over beige trousers and a matching shirt.

The pair didn't just pose with each other, Bridgerton series writer and editor, Jess Brownell, also attended the event, and posed hand-in-hand with the pair as well.

In February, ET spoke to Coughlan and Newton about their on-screen romance.

"It was very intimidating to step in that mantle of the romantic," Coughlan said.

Newton echoed her sentiments, but credited the ease of getting into the moment thanks to their real-life friendship.

"I feel like there's always that question being asked of, is it easier to do the intimacy scenes or the more romantic scenes with someone who is your friend of four years or someone you just met for one day? I can safely say it's easier with a friend," he said. "There really is that sort of support."

Coughlan added, "It's scary going in, but then, thankfully, we have a really good relationship, so we can talk about it, and we can laugh about it when we need to. It made it scary, but a lot better."

Bridgerton season 3 will be released in two parts. The first will debut on Thursday, May 16, while the second part will launch on Thursday, June 13. Each part will consist of four episodes.
