When you’re presenting an award with a legend like Carol Burnett, you have to stay on your toes!

Jennifer Aniston learned that lesson the hard way when the two queens of comedy presented together at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. As the crowd at the The Beverly Hilton rose to its feet to applaud Burnett, Aniston gushed about the honor of getting to present with her “idol.”

“That’s so sweet,” Burnett replied, before hitting Aniston with her classic dry wit. “And, you know, I’m happy that you’re coming back to television, because Will & Grace was one of my favorite shows.”

Aniston, of course, did not star on Will & Grace, but rather its Must-See TV timeslot neighbor, Friends. It was recently announced that the actress would soon be returning to the small screen to executive produce and star in a new Apple series about TV morning shows, alongside her onscreen sister, Reese Witherspoon.

Aniston and Burnett then presented the award for Best Actress in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy to a hilarious up-and-comer, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan. After another silly bit in which Aniston begged to pull on Burnett’s ear, leading the comedy legend to label the Friends star “kinky,” they awarded Best Actress in a TV Series - Drama to an equally starstruck Elisabeth Moss, for her role on The Handmaid’s Tale.
