Sweater weather is coming to a close, but that doesn't mean a light knit doesn't come in handy (cue the Miss Congeniality quote).
Before we reach the sweltering temperatures of summer, an easy, lightweight topper is practical on breezy days and nights to throw on. Celebrities have got the same idea, but instead of the ubiquitous denim jacket, stars like Laura Harrier, Kristen Stewart and Kendall Jenner are rocking cardigans in an array of colors for every occasion, whether it's on the red carpet or off-duty.
Cardigans are often associated with a style that's "frumpy," but we beg to differ with today's offerings of shrunken silhouettes, playful hues and statement details (oversized buttons, balloon sleeves, plunging necklines, just to name a few). These designs modernize the classic knit and can be worn as a layering piece or alone as a top.
There are so many ways to style it, too. Give it an unexpected sexy spin by leaving it partially unbuttoned or tied to bare a little midriff à la Jenner and fellow supermodel Bella Hadid. For a more polished, elevated take, wear with wide-leg trousers or a pencil skirt as Harrier did.
