The “Tennessee Whiskey” singer also won Album of the Year at Sunday's country music awards show.

Sunday was a big day for Chris Stapleton!

The country star was unable to attend the 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday, because he and wife Morgane were expecting the arrival of their twins. The “Tennessee Whiskey” singer won Album of the Year at the ACMs for From a Room: Volume 1 at the awards show, but as it turns out, that wasn’t the only thing he had to celebrate.

“That’s only the second-biggest news,” host Reba McEntire told the crowd following Stapleton’s win. “We just found out that those little rascals came a little bit early.”

McEntire revealed that the couple -- who are already parents to a son and daughter -- had welcomed twin boys, and concluded her “breaking news” by wishing Stapleton a very happy birthday. That’s right, Sunday also marked the singer’s milestone 40th birthday!

Stapleton's wife announced that the couple were expecting two more additions to their family back in October, with a sweet anniversary post.

"14 years, 2 babies, & 2 more on the way," she wrote alongside a black-and-white snap of her and Chris performing together. "Happy 10 year anniversary babe! You make my whole world go round."
