Most Shocking Snubs of the 2011 Emmy Nominations

There seems to have been a disconnect this year between the viewers and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as several TV favorites were left out of this year's Emmy nominations.

Ironically, while "Glee" snagged five nominations as a show, the show's star Lea Michele failed to be acknowledged in the lead actress in a comedy category, a decision sure to send gleeks into an uproar.

As gory dramas like AMC's "The Walking Dead" and HBO's "True Blood" continue to gain traction with ratings, they seem to have lost the attention of Emmy voters. Neither show was granted a nomination in the category for outstanding drama series.

One Hollywood executive producer actually predicted his Emmy shut out. Kurt Sutter ("Sons of Anarchy") tweeted on Wednesday, "Tomorrow morning I'll be the fat kid who didn't get picked to play… not saying we deserved any Emmys, I just like to be included."

Still, no one had it worse than Susan Lucci who was nominated 18 times before she finally won in 1999. Hopefully those that were overlooked this year will use that disappointment as fuel to keep putting out good work until they have to be recognized.
