<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/american-idol" target="_blank">American Idol</a> is really starting to narrow the&nbsp;field. Monday's new episode saw the judges round out their choices for the Top 24.

Starting the Showstopper round with 64 contestants, the judges -- including Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan -- had the unenviable task of eliminating 40 hopefuls after a string of impressive&nbsp;performances.

Some of the choices were no-brainers, with the Idol hopefuls bringing down the house with numbers that were truly mind-blowing -- like&nbsp;Willie Spence's rendition of "I Was Here" by Beyoncé and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/american-idol-ex-boybander-brings-katy-perry-to-her-feet-in-new-sneak-peek-exclusive-163064" target="_blank">Colin Jamieson's exciting rock performance</a> with a cover of Fall Out Boy's "Sugar, We're Goin Down."

However, this season's big elimination was also met with a lot of divisive criticism from fans, who felt the judges cut performers who really deserved a chance to move on -- <a href="https://www.etonline.com/american-idol-twitter-reacts-to-heartbreaking-elimination-katy-perry-look-alikes-miley-cyrus-cover" target="_blank">like musician Murphy, who performed an original tune</a> -- or kept singers around who hadn't earned it.

Regardless of how fans felt about their choices, the judges have finalized their selections. So, before the next round of this season's competition kicks off, here's a look at all the singers who are still fighting for the title, and the Showstopper performances that earned them a spot in the Top 24.

'American Idol': See Top 24 Singers Who Impressed Katy Perry, Lionel Richie & Luke Bryan Enough to Move On

Madison Beer is forging her own path in the music industry.

The 19-year-old singer went from posting covers on YouTube&nbsp;to playing this year's Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago and now she's a presence on the Billboard charts. Her empowering single "Home With You" is currently #21 on the Top 40 charts making her the only female solo artist on the charts without a major music label. A feat that's not lost on the young star.&nbsp;

"I want to be role model for people to be like, 'I don't need a major label to be a successful artist and to have a successful song,'" Beer tells&nbsp;ET. "I just want to show everyone that you could really do it yourself. It's important to drive your own ship and it's your career so you might as well take it by the reigns."

Beer, whose&nbsp;cover of Etta James' classic, "At Last" got Justin Bieber's attention on YouTube in 2012, says choosing to go independent has also given her loyal fan base more influence on her career moves.&nbsp;

"Being independent, [my fans] control everything," she says.&nbsp;"They are the ones who decide what songs get to be the single, they are the ones what video gets to be made and I just listen to them all the time."

The New York native recently wrapped a sold-out 30-city tour and is hard at work on her debut album and looking forward to bringing her music and "poetry" to life!&nbsp;

"The full album probably won't be out for a few months just because it's about 20 percent done at this point so that means I've got a little ways to go," she explains. "The new music is definitely on it's way. I'm trying to get a single out before the album."

"I'm just such a visual person that&nbsp; when I listen to a [new] song all I could do is picture the video, me on stage performing it. It's overwhelming and just gets me excited."

How Madison Beer Took Her Music Career Into Her Own Hands (Exclusive)

Sara Bareilles is back in the studio!

Fresh off her recent Emmy&nbsp;nomination for her performance in <a href="https://www.etonline.com/chrissy-teigen-live-tweeted-john-legends-jesus-christ-superstar-production-and-it-was-amazing-99498">Jesus Christ Superstar Live!</a>, the GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter is hard at work on her first album in five years and is embracing change as she enters the&nbsp;next era of her music career.

“It’s a slight departure for me,” Bareilles tells ET of her new music. “I'm actually sort of swimming in territory that will feel very familiar for people, but it's a very rootsy, organic sounding record.” Bareilles says she is also drawing inspiration from current events both in the world and in her personal life.

“These are songs that are about the world,” she shares. “I've got songs about Obama, I've got songs about ... the other stuff. It's definitely a slightly political record.”

But don’t worry, the new stuff will also include love songs from the 38-year-old artist, who is currently dating Rise actor&nbsp;Joe Tippett and admits, “I’m in love!”

“What I try to do with my records is encapsulate the spectrum of what it feels like to be alive,” she says. “It's the good, the bad and the ugly. It's all of it.”

Bareilles reveals that she has&nbsp;already recorded 13 songs for the new record and expects to release more than one song from the project before the end of the year. Until then, the triple threat is celebrating her first Emmy&nbsp;nomination for <a href="https://www.etonline.com/john-legend-alice-cooper-and-sara-bareilles-shine-in-new-jesus-christ-superstar-first-look-98821">her performance as Mary Magdalene</a> in Jesus Christ Superstar Live! 

“It's one of those things I feel like I'm getting invited to someone else's party,” she says of the recognition. “As a musician, I'm just going to be a fly on the wall and just enjoy getting to be there.”

Bareilles is also bringing her Tony-nominated music of Waitress the Musical to Los Angeles with their national tour.

“It’s such a joy because I know that not everybody gets to go to New York and neither did I, so it’s fun to get to share it," she says.

Waitress the Musical runs at the Hollywood Pantages from Aug.&nbsp;2-26.

Sara Bareilles Says Expect New Songs From Her Upcoming ‘Political' Album to Drop This Year (Exclusive)

Fear Factor is back and this time celebrities are getting in on the action!

In the season premiere episode of MTV’s Celebrity Fear Factor, rapper Tyga and superfan Jordan are both trapped in a tank of ice that is quickly filling up with freezing water. The&nbsp;guys are tasked with looking for plugs to stop the water at the bottom of the tank.

“My hands went numb instantly and I couldn’t feel a thing,” Jordan explains in the clip. “In my head I thought, ‘I’m about to quit right now.’”

From hip-hop artists to reality TV stars, some of&nbsp;your favorite celebs&nbsp;will face their fears in crazy, and sometime disgusting, challenges this season.

“It's always funny to see people that you've seen in other aspects of television, seeing them compete on this show,” host Ludacris tells&nbsp;ET. “You think you know someone because of their personality on another TV show, but then they get on here and it make you realize you didn't know that person at all.”

<a href="https://www.etonline.com/media/video/exclusive_ludacris_on_fear_factor_reboot_and_why_you_won_t_see_contestants_eating_bull_testicles-219100">MTV’s revival of the hit </a>competition series became the network’s highest-rated series premiere when it debuted last year. The ratings success is a double win for Ludacris, who also serves as a producer on the show.

“I have fun every, single episode,” Ludacris says. “I'm just as entertained as everybody else. We always try to grow, we always try to get even more creative with these challenges and now we have some celebrity episodes.”

The rapper may wear a couple of hats on the show, but don’t count on seeing him participate in any of the challenges anytime soon-- not if MTV has anything to do with it!

“They won't allow me to participate in any of these things!” Ludacris explains. “I would have participated in a lot.”

Celebrity Fear Factor premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m.&nbsp;ET on MTV.

Ludacris Says Seeing Celebrities on His ‘Fear Factor’ Is ‘Funny’ (Exclusive)

Married singing duo&nbsp;Michael and Carissa Alvarado&nbsp;reveal exclusively to ET that <a href="https://www.etonline.com/media/video/exclusive_us_the_duo_wants_you_to_help_write_their_next_album-194242">their next album,&nbsp;Together</a>, will drop "within a month" before they&nbsp;hit the road for their Together Tour later this summer. Until then, the couple is&nbsp;also preparing for life as first-time parents.&nbsp;

Ahead of their <a href="https://www.etonline.com/americas-got-talent-singer-father-of-6-michael-ketterer-is-like-a-real-life-jack-pearson-exclusive">impressive AGT&nbsp;audition</a>, Michael and Carissa&nbsp;told judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel that&nbsp;their ultimate dream is to start a family. That wish came true when the couple&nbsp;announced they&nbsp;were expecting their first child, a girl, in April.&nbsp;

"I'm just excited to be a dad," Michael tells&nbsp;ET. "I don't know what I'm doing at all, but since the day we met, [Carissa's] said, 'I just want to have a child with you.' And I said, 'Let's just give it some time. Let's work on Us the Duo for a little bit.' But to see how happy she gets, to know she's pregnant, I know makes her happy. I'm just excited."

"It's just such a cool opportunity," Carissa adds.&nbsp;"We get to teach a child how to be, how to act, how to love. We just want to do our best at teaching them how to love everyone and be kind."&nbsp;

"Every time we sing it, it reminds me of why she is so special to me," Michael explains. "As cheesy as it sounds, it's just a reminder to me that she's my wife and I'm with her for the rest of my life and it makes me happy."

"We sang it after our gender reveal and it was really special and emotional and Michael started crying," Carissa reveals.

"It's kind of about our future child, so we get to sing that and while she has this big bump on stage, I feel like there's going to be a lot of emotions happening," Michael adds.&nbsp;

Thankfully, these lovebirds have each other to lean on as they balance their hectic career and growing family.

"We are very blessed to be able to do this together because when I have those moments of anxiety I'm like, 'Whoa, I'm not alone,'" Carissa says. "I think we've learned over the years of being a duo, working together while also being in a relationship, it's a very fine balance and making sure we make time for each other and putting that first always, and then comes the music and our job."

Beyonce at Coachella 2018: What to Expect From Her Headlining Performance

“Amazing, beyond, iconic, life.” Those are the four words Beyonce’s lead choreographer, JaQuel Knight, used to describe the music superstar’s upcoming <a href="http://www.etonline.com/media/video/beyonce_is_headlining_coachella_2017_three_epic_reasons_this_slays-206327" target="_blank">Coachella performance</a>.
The GRAMMY winner is set to headline the annual Indio, California music festival in 2018, her first major gig since <a href="http://www.etonline.com/news/221514_beyonce_shares_first_photo_of_twins" target="_blank">giving birth to twins</a>&nbsp;Rumi and Sir Carter in June. Beyonce was originally scheduled to perform at the 2017 festival, but <a href="http://www.etonline.com/media/video/pregnant_beyonce_pulls_out_of_coachella_will_headline_2018_festival_instead-211232" target="_blank">postponed her appearance</a> after announcing she was pregnant.
“We're getting ready for Coachella and you know, that's going to change the game,” Knight teased of the highly anticipated performance. “Be ready for a good time. A good ol' time.”
Knight, who was recently named one of Forbes’ 2018 <a href="https://www.forbes.com/30-under-30/2018/music/#df9c6843bc31" target="_blank">"30 Under 30,"</a>&nbsp;first worked with Beyonce while choreographing her iconic 2009 "Single Ladies"&nbsp;music video.
“‘Single Ladies’ is still a moment that I have yet to put into words,” he said of the VMA-winning video. “The impact that that piece had on culture and music and what it's done for Beyonce, even, is just mind-blowing. It's something that's going to hopefully last forever.”

 data-ctd-shortcode-url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m1EFMoRFvY">&nbsp;</div>Since then, Knight has gone on to help design and choreograph Beyonce’s masterful performances for both <a href="http://www.etonline.com/news/181793_coldplay_beyonce_and_bruno_mars_rock_the_super_bowl_50_halftime_show" target="_blank">Super Bowl appearances</a>, the "Formation"&nbsp;video and her last two world tours. So what are the biggest lessons he’s learned from working with Queen Bey?
“Never settle and always be yourself,” he said. “One thing working with her is she always wants the greatest and the best and she always pulls it out of you.”
As for whether Knight is sitting around waiting for Bey’s next big project like the rest of us, he joked he’s currently enjoying his free time.
“Once we get started, it is a never-ending process,” he admitted.
Still, Knight doesn’t exactly have all the free time in the world these days. Most recently, the 28-year-old choreographed N*E*R*D and Rihanna’s "Lemon"&nbsp;video. Watch the video below to learn how to "Lemon."

Beyonce Choreographer JaQuel Knight Says Her 2018 Coachella Performance Will Be a Game Changer

How to Get Away With Murder is setting up what's sure to be another season of jaw-dropping twists and turns.
In Tuesday’s season four premiere episode, titled “I’m Going Away,” the story picks up following Wes’ (Alfred Enoch) <a href="http://www.etonline.com/news/203168_shocking_how_to_get_away_with_murder_death_watch_the_star_react_on_jimmy_kimmel_live">tragic death last season</a>. Annalise (Viola Davis) sets out to pick up the pieces of her shattered life, but not everyone is ready to move on.
Laurel (Karla Souza), who is still pregnant with Wes’ baby (at the beginning of the episode!), becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him the night he died and taking down her own father, who we learned in the season three finale ordered the hit on Wes.
ET talked to Souza about Laurel’s dramatic evolution and how her complicated storyline will affect Annalise and the Keating Four, whose own fates are still in question, as well as what it’s really like rocking a baby bump on set.

That is not the case, especially for Laurel, who we learn in a flash-forward at the end of the episode, loses the baby. What was your reaction after reading the script for the season premiere?
Karla Souza: Weirdly enough, this time around, [showrunner Peter Nowalk] was kind enough to call me up to his office and gave me the play-by-play for the first episode and said the whole hook for the midseason finale was going to be Laurel and where’s the baby? Rather than have me read it [he and new producer/director Jet Wilkinson] told me this is what they came up with when we came back from hiatus. I was just kind of like, constantly [gasping]… every time he told me anything. It just got better and better and towards the end when he said, ‘And then you’re going to wake up and not see your baby!’ I just thought, this poor woman is going to go through the ringer but at the same time, acting-wise, what a great challenge.
When we first met Laurel at the beginning of the series in season one, she was very timid, she flew under the radar and people underestimated her. How excited are you to expand her journey?
There’s actually a call back to that Laurel this season that you’ll see in future episodes, where she was super timid -- she spoke up for herself, but she was very quiet. But we didn’t know where she was coming from and she’s completely out of her shell now. The stakes are a lot higher, especially now that she has a baby inside of her. She’s capable of a lot of things and whether she’s doing them with someone or on her own she’s a woman with a mission. I think the fact that her number one enemy is her father (Esai Morales), that’s definitely hard -- it’s like a blood-to-blood relationship. There’s a very thin line between love and hate, and I think that just makes it that much more interesting that it’s not the Mahones, it’s not some distant person, but it’s her own father that she wants to take revenge on. For me, it’s just been a great experience to have more material to work with and going into season four knowing this was going to be the through-line and that I was going to have all of this to play with.&nbsp;I was extremely grateful.

Right now we’re filming episode seven and I haven’t read eight yet, which is the flash-forward episode. What I do know, however, is that we will learn what happened at that point. We will at least see how we got that place, how she got to be in the hospital, how Jimmy Smits got to be involved and we’ll see a lot more of what happened that night, which is going to be super intricate like it always is, involving everyone. It becomes everyone’s baby. It’s going be a big situation for all of them and it’s going to affect all of them.
How weird was it for you to rock a prosthetic baby bump on set?
You have no idea. When I came back from hiatus I was trying on all these prosthetics, because we’re going to see a lot more of the baby and the bump and everything… The prosthetics look incredible. But when you see the bump, I’m wearing a pregnancy suit. It’s a little uncomfortable, let me just say,&nbsp;I’m sweating all the time. It’s like a corset. Then when you see the belly, it’s the prosthetic... But that first episode, that’s actually me pushing out my belly! That’s not a prosthetic! We were like, you know what? It’s just going to look more real if I push out my belly.
You can eat whatever you want now!
This whole season I’m like, craft services, here I come! &nbsp;

It’s changed the dynamic of scheduling and shooting! We normally all had the same shooting schedule throughout the first three seasons and then suddenly this season we all have different days of shooting. We have a lot more days off, but the days that we are working it’s only our characters. We all have our separate storylines and little by little we start coming together.
It’s almost like she let the flock fly and we're going to see what each of our characters [do] --&nbsp;for Michaela, it’s getting preoccupied with what jobs she’s going to get, with [Laurel] it’s the revenge and then for Connor and Oliver, it’s their relationship and what that looks like and whether they want to continue law school or not. Everyone is going to have their own storylines, have more space...&nbsp;but it starts to&nbsp;wind in as stuff starts happening where we’re all going to have to come back together again. I think it’s going to be nice for the audience to seem them interact without having the structure that we normally had in past seasons.
