Hollywood's Biggest Red Carpet Disasters

Published

When stars steps onto the red carpet, they're trying to attract the attention of throngs of snapping photographers as well as their fans. But take a look at some of these red carpet disasters and wardrobe malfunctions that gave the stars the wrong kind of exposure!

One star known for her over-the-top and revealing red carpet fashions is singer Jennifer Lopez, who appeared at the 2000 Grammy Awards wearing a jaw-dropping palm-print silk chiffon dress designed by Donatella Versace that revealed cleavage past her naval. Not wanting to disappoint, she showed up the very next year at the Oscars wearing a classic long dress that was partially see-through, revealing her upper assets.

Another good example of an outfit not leaving much -- or anything -- to the imagination was a see-through dress worn by Alexandra Kerry, daughter of Senator John Kerry, on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. The camera flashes basically turned the red carpet display into a peep show.

There was also Gwyneth Paltrow's rare misstep at the 2002 Academy Awards when she wore a goth-like Alexander McQueen getup, Lara Flynn Boyle's appearance at the 2003 Golden Globes in pink tutu dress -- described as a "complete train wreck" -- and Scarlett Johansson's bad hair day at this year's Golden Globes.
