Dorm sweet dorm! It's almost time to pack up your bags and head off to college and our ETonline host, Katie Krause, wants to help you make your dorm room feel like home without breaking the bank.
The bed is the most important part of your personal space in college. It's not only where you sleep, but it serves as a place to study, watch TV, and chat with friends. To make yours feel extra cozy and inviting, pick up a shabby-chic Lydia 5-piece comforter set from Kohl's. Katie opted for the cloud-like white bedding but added a pop of color with throw pillows galore including teal and sparkly gray ones. When you need to crack open a book, use a soft and plush backrest for extra comfort. If you need some extra layers, snuggle up with The Big Ones blankets, like the white and turquoise patterned throws Katie found.

When it comes to personalizing the rest of your living space, try creating a small lounging area. Katie started with a folding butterfly chair that is trendy, lightweight and easy to move and stow away. For a pop of color, she added a teal chevron pillow and a neon coral blanket. Use a bookshelf for storage but also to add decorative touches to your room. Katie topped hers off with a sky blue record player that can blast all your favorite tunes during your study breaks. Add picture frames to the shelves to remember your friends and family back home and keep all your other necessities tucked away neatly in colorful bins. Katie even stashed Sonoma Life & Style bath towels in one of hers.

And when it's time to hit the showers, snag your shower caddy filled with all your bath essentials and don't forget those shower shoes! When you're done, toss your towel in a gray and white Simple by Design hamper that is the perfect space saver – easy to fold and hangs right over your door knob with ease!
