This week, The Paley Center for Media partnered with CBS Consumer Products to present the Los Angeles premiere gallery exhibition of Star Trek: The Art of Juan Ortiz, the artist's groundbreaking effort to personify each of the original series' 79 episodes (and the original pilot) through a collection of original art posters. ETonline is proud to present a sampling of Ortiz's work, along with his unique perspective on the show and art.

The Paley Center for Media Trek exhibit in Beverly Hills, CA, is free and open to the public through January 5, 2014.

Ortiz tells ETonline, "Hope, I think, kind of means things will get better in the future, whereas I think we can be positive now and bring about the change I think that [Star Trek creator] Gene Roddenberry envisioned. Otherwise, we're just stuck in hope, you know?"

Star Trek: The Art of Juan Ortiz from Titan Books is available now.
