New on DVD and Blu-ray: February 10

Director Spike Lee's World War II mystery, based on a true story, follows a troop of African American soldiers -- the 92nd "Buffalo Soldier" Division -- trapped behind enemy lines in Italy, looking to survive the enemy, their allies and their own expendability. The film's cast includes Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, John Turturro, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, John Leguizamo and Kerry Washington.

Blu-ray bonus features include deleted scenes and the featurettes "Deeds Not Words," in which Spike Lee shares intimate experiences with members of the historic Harlem Veterans' Club, and "The Buffalo Soldier Experience," which traces the history of the Buffalo Soldier with historians and rare firsthand accounts.

Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo star in this apocalyptic thriller from director Fernando Meirelles ('The Constant Gardner,' 'City of God'). Society is plunged into chaos when an inexplicable epidemic of blindness sweeps a major city. Still able to see, Julianne feigns blindness in order to accompany her husband (Ruffalo) into an internment camp, only to find she must fight to survive against those who are preying on the afflicted. Danny Glover and Gael Garcia Bernal also star.

Special features include deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes making-of featurette.

A fun and poignant final snapshot of the late Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes, who both died last year, 'Soul Men' finds Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie singing and dancing as a pair of backup soul singers who haven't spoken to each other in 20 years. When they're invited to perform at a tribute concert for their famous former band leader at the legendary Apollo Theater, the two curmudgeons reluctantly agree to travel cross country together for the honor.

Special features include filmmaker commentary, the behind-the-scenes featurettes "Bernie Mac at the Apollo" and "Boogie Ain't Nothin'" and more.

This year's Best Actress Oscar nominee Melissa Leo delivers a stirring performance as Ray, a hardened single mother trying to make a life for her children after her gambling-addicted husband walks out with their money. With little opportunity to make ends meet, Ray and her friend Lila (Misty Upham) embark on an illegal scheme transporting immigrants into the U.S. across Mohawk territory -- and soon find themselves faced with life or death decisions. The Academy Award-nominated film is also up for Best Original Screenplay.

Special features include commentary with the film's director and producer, Courtney Hunt and Heather Rae.

President Barack Obama's historic rise to the most powerful seat in the nation is chronicled in this nearly four-hour documentary, a unique time capsule of his journey from Illinois Senator to the United States' first African-American president, featuring intimate and informal moments of the president-elect and his family as captured by "60 Minutes" cameras.

Two hours of Mr. Obama's most memorable public addresses are included in the DVD, such as the declaration of his candidacy, his groundbreaking speech on Race in America, his acceptance of the Democratic Party nomination, his victory address on election night at Grant Park in Chicago and his entire Inaugural Address.

Steven Seagal has battled the good, the bad and the ugly -- but this time he's up against the supernatural! The veteran action star plays a Katana master who leads a special ops team against a coven of vampires. The setting: an infected hospital in a post-apocalyptic landscape overrun by vamps, where a few remaining human survivors hold the key to the future of humanity.

A modern-day take on Jack the Ripper, Simon Baker, Alfred Molina, Hope Davis, Shane West and Rachel Leigh Cook star in this psychological thriller about a ruthless prostitute killer cutting a swath through Hollywood's Sunset Strip. The relentless killer uses methods identical to London's Ripper, similar to a serial murderer incarcerated years ago. Could the wrong man be behind bars?

Special features include deleted and alternate scenes and the making-of featurette "Beyond the Shadows: Behind the Scenes of The Lodger."

Josh Brolin stuns with his spot-on impersonation of President George W. Bush in director Oliver Stone's controversial biopic. Also starring Richard Dreyfuss as V.P. Dick Cheney, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, James Cromwell and Ellen Burstyn as George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, and Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice, the film chronicles Bush's rise to power, demonstrating that anyone can grow up to be president.

Special features include audio commentary by Stone, the behind-the-scenes featurette "Dangerous Dynasty: The Bush Presidency" and a copious research and annotations guide. Blu-ray features also include deleted scenes and an additional featurette, "No Stranger to Controversy: Oliver Stone's George W. Bush."

Richard Gere and Diane Lane put their chemistry to the test a third time with 'Rodanthe' (first co-starring in 'The Cotton Club' in 1984 and then 18 years later in 'Unfaithful'), the story of a married mother (Lane) who travels to a tiny North Carolina coastal town to escape her personal demons. Tending to a friend's inn for the weekend, she finds herself weathering a major storm with an enticing doctor (Gere) -- and igniting a romance that could change their lives forever. The film is based on the book by best-selling The Notebook novelist Nicholas Sparks.
