New Movies on DVD & Blu-ray: November 24

The precious pups of the "Buddies" series are back in a fun-filled holiday adventure to bring back the spirit of Christmas! When the world begins to forget the true meaning of the holidays, it's up to Puppy Paws (son of Santa Paws) -- and his newfound buddies B-Dawg, Budderball, Buddha, Mudbud and Rosebud -- to save the day! The movie stars George Wendt and Christopher Lloyd and features the vocal talents of Tim Conway, Richard Kind and Tom Bosley.

Special features on the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack include Sing-Along to Christmas Carols with the Buddies and a "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" music video.

The Chevy Chase holiday classic celebrates its 20th anniversary (has it been that long already?) on Blu-ray and DVD with a fun-filled "Holiday Survival Kit" in a collectible gift tin! Stuffed inside are cool collectibles including a replica of Clark Griswold's holiday Santa hat, a box of faux snow (just add water!), a set of holiday themed drink coasters with memorable quotes from the movie, and an "I survived a Griswold Family Christmas" button. A collectible Walley World Moose figurine is also exclusive to the Blu-Ray gift set.

Written by John Hughes and also starring Randy Quaid, Beverly D'Angelo, Juliette Lewis and Diane Ladd, 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' finds the Griswolds deciding to celebrate the holidays at home – and enduring the onslaught of obnoxious relatives, too many Christmas lights, an exploding turkey, a S.W.A.T. team siege and a killer squirrel.

Kobe Bryant says he still gets goosebumps every time he runs out to start a game, and now sports fans can get unlimited access to the intensity, work ethic and incredible talent of the 2009 NBA Finals MVP in this documentary by acclaimed director Spike Lee. Featuring a score by Bruce Hornsby, the film follows the L.A. Lakers star before, during and after one of the season's biggest games against the San Antonio Spurs, leading to the 2007-08 playoffs.

Special features include an on-camera introduction by director Spike Lee; deleted scenes; footage of Kobe during the fourth quarter; his press conference after the game; a behind-the-scenes featurette; Bruce Hornsby music video; and a special, limited edition Upper Deck Kobe trading card that will only be available inside the first 30,000 DVDs.

In the new family comedy from Robert Rodriguez (the 'Spy Kids' trilogy), Jimmy Bennett plays 11-year-old Toe Thompson, a punching bag for the neighborhood bullies who turns the tables on his enemies after he's hit on the head by a mysterious rainbow rock. Toe quickly learns that the magical stone can grant any wish he desires, and soon the suburban town of Black Falls is turned upside down when everyone gets to have their wish come true! Leslie Mann, William H. Macy, James Spader and Jon Cryer also star.

Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn play a happily unmarried couple whose annual holiday escape plans are foiled when fog grounds their San Francisco flight. When their relatives catch wind that they're still in town, they find themselves forced to endure a Christmas get-together with each of their respective divorced parents and wild siblings, played by Robert Duvall, Jon Favreau, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam, Tim McGraw, Kristin Chenoweth, Jon Voight and Sissy Spacek.

Eddie Murphy plays a busy financial exec who is struggling to connect with his seven-year-old daughter (Yara Shahidi). But once he makes the effort to see things as she does through her magic blanket, he finds the solution to his business and family problems with her imaginary world of princesses and fairytales.

Special features include filmmaker commentary; deleted scenes; hilarious outtakes; a set tour with Yara and several behind-the-scenes featurettes including "A Playgound of the Mind," "Star Blanket: Native American Influence," "The King and His Jesters" and "What Were They Really Saying?"

In his first collaboration with 'Knocked Up' director (and former roomie) Judd Apatow, Adam Sandler plays seasoned stand-up comic George Simmons, who learns he has a terminal health condition and takes a young, inexperienced comedian (Seth Rogen) under his wing for company. As their relationship grows into a friendship, George tries to rekindle with a former flame (Leslie Mann) while Seth's character must contend with jealous friends (Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman). Eric Bana also stars as Leslie Mann's husband.

This time, Langdon must confront the mysterious Illuminati in a race against time through Rome to unlock a conspiracy that may put the Vatican -- and the world -- in jeopardy. Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer and Stellan Skarsgard also star.

The two-disc Blu-ray and two-disc Extended Edition DVD contain both the theatrical and an extended version of the film, with special features including the Hans Zimmer Music Studio, in which viewers can create their own version of the film's score, and several behind-the-scenes featurettes, including "Handling Props," "CERN: Pushing the Frontiers of Knowledge" and "Rome Was Not Built in a Day."
