New Movies on DVD & Blu-ray: December 1

10:30 AM PST, November 30, 2009

Director Guy Ritchie's cult comedy-thrillers exploring the gritty, double-crossing dealings of London underground gangsters finally make the leap to Blu-ray!

In 'Snatch,' Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Farina and Jason Statham star in a twisted tale of boxers, brawlers, Irish gypsies, promoters, gamblers, thieves, and Russian gangsters as they fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond.

Special features include filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, storyboard comparisons, movieIQ, "The Snatch Cutting Room," and a behind-the-scenes making-of featurette. Also, catch the official 'Snatch' Web site for the "Pikey Translator," a 'Snatch' soundboard and the "Diamond and Dag" sweepstakes which will take two winners to London!

Ritchie's guns-a-blazin' feature film debut, 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,' finds card shark Eddy (Nick Moran) losing half a million of his best mates' (played by Jason Statham, Jason Flemyng and Dexter Fletcher) money in a fixed game. Given a choice of handing over their favorite pub (owned by Sting) or coming up with the money in a week, the plot is set in motion with a hilarious cast of crooked characters and dealings involving guns, nuns, drugs and dopes.

Special features include BD Live, D-Box Motion Control for a shaking, vibrating, one-of-a-kind movie experience, "One Smoking Camera" and more behind-the-scenes featurettes.

'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian'

20th Century Fox
Ben Stiller returns for the follow-up to the hugely successful 'Night at the Museum' -- only this time the stakes are much higher and the laughs are much louder as the action moves to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. Ben's museum friends who come alive at night have been relocated, but they quickly find themselves battling it out with a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh (Hank Azaria) who plans to take over the museum -- and the world! Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan, Jonah Hill and Amy Adams also star.

The special Blu-ray Disc/DVD Combo Pack comes with a digital copy of the film and, for a limited time, a "Monkey Mischief" double DVD chock-full of entertaining extras! Special features include an interactive museum scavenger hunt game, gag reel, 12 deleted scenes with an alternate ending, and fun behind-the-scenes featurettes including "Curators of Comedy: Behind The Scenes with Ben Stiller," "Cherub Bootcamp" and "Phinding Pharaoh with Hank Azaria." The Monkey Michief DVD also includes "The Secret Life of a Monkey Movie Star: Life Off Camera" and two games: "Monkey Slap Game" and "Abel and Dexter's Flights Of Fancy." 'Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian' Blu-ray Discs and DVDs also feature the "Golden Ticket" Activation Instant Win Sweepstakes, with the chance to instantly win the ultimate Smithsonian Experience, which includes travel and accommodations to Washington D.C. and a once-in-a-lifetime, behind-the-scenes, all-access private tour of the Smithsonian Museum for a family of four.

'Terminator Salvation'

Warner Bros.
Christian Bale steps into the boots of John Connor, savior of the human race, in this gritty, post-apocalyptic sequel. Set after Judgment Day has come and gone, the story follows the converging paths of Connor as he leads the charge against the deadly machines of Skynet, a young Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) -- who will one day go back in time to father John Connor -- as he joins up with the resistance, and Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a former convict given a new lease on life after being cryogenically frozen -- and radically altered beyond his own comprehension. Director McG ups the ante of visual spectacle and mechanical Terminator threats to the fourth installment of the popular action franchise and still manages to deliver a few new surprises for the film's finale.

Special features on the two-disc Blu-ray include both the theatrical version of the film and a new, extended director's cut with explosive additional footage not shown in theaters, plus the interactive Maximum Movie Mode, which enables viewers to see director McG deconstruct key moments from the movie. The Blu-ray also features a digital copy of the theatrical film and more than 40 minutes of Picture-in-Picture filmmaker commentary with cast and crew, storyboard comparisons, still galleries, a Terminator mythology timeline, the behind-the-scenes featurettes "Re-Forging the Future" and "The Moto-Terminator," and 11 mini-featurette focus points.
