The Fifty Shades Freed star appears on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and faces off with tWitch for a hands-on game of "Twister Hunky Hoopla."
Both men have women from the audience as their teammates, and needless to say, the fans are beyond excited to be all tangled up with the stars.
Dornan's team ends up losing but not without a fight!
The 35-year-old actor -- who was wearing THEY New York sneakers on the show -- also chats with DeGeneres about the enthusiastic fans of his sexy Fifty Shades character, Christian Grey. "I get a lot of fans talking to me as if I am Christian Grey," the Irish star admits. "I'll be in a line at Starbucks or something and someone will be like, 'Oh, Mr Grey.' I'm literally holding one of my children."
Dornan says fans even quote "very specific things" from the erotic books-turned-movies, "like, some sort of red room reference."
The father of two isn't so suave when it comes to these interactions. "I panic. I just don't know how to respond because I'm not like him (Christian Grey)," he explains. "They probably think I'm just really weird, which I'm fine with."
The Fifty Shades movies always come out around Valentine's Day -- Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters on Feb. 9 -- and DeGeneres wonders if this affects how Dornan spends the holiday with his wife, Amelia Warner.
"I like to think she's more in love with me than that guy," he quips. "She hasn't seen the movies or anything."
Dornan jokingly adds, "I don't want to pay for a ticket for her to see [me like that]."
DeGeneres notes that the third Fifty Shades sequel is a lot more intense than the ones before it, but Dornan points out that there's still quite a few steamy scenes. "Obviously, there's still sex in it. There's people who want to see sex, it seems, so we kept a fair amount [in the movie]," he says. "Someone was telling me recently that there's more sex in the third one than the other two, but I don't know. I don't sit there with a timer."
While Dornan has very intimate scenes with co-star Dakota Fanning -- who plays Christian Grey's love interest Anastasia Steele in the films -- he confessed to having an old "playground" crush with one of the other actresses in Fifty Shades Free.
