Season one of Mama June: From Not to Hot represents Mama June Shannon's "life after" Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and season two is throwing a little love in the mix!
That's right: Mama June has a boyfriend -- and she dished all about him during her sit-down interview with ET's Keltie Knight on Tuesday.
"We met through my sister and her boyfriend. We all hang out in the same circle. We all knew each other from back in the day," June said of her new boo, adding that he "had no idea who I was when we met." "I wasn't studying him and he wasn't studying me... His kids did [know who I was], but I promise you, he had no idea who we were."
"He is here for the right reasons. He doesn't care if I'm big or small," she insisted. "He has been [with me] while I've been sick. I told him, 'Look, you don't have to deal with this. We haven't been together long. If you want to walk away, you can.' And he didn't."
It was also important for June's boyfriend to get a stamp of approval from her daughters -- "It's always been me and the girls," she explained -- and it sounds like he has.
"He’s nice. I would say I approve. With a side eye, because you can’t trust anybody," June's daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson declared. "It’s crazy, but I will have to say I’ve never seen Mama smile this much ever. If you even just say, like, remotely anything about him, she’ll start smiling."
"It makes me feel good, because when you say 'Sugar [Bear],' she doesn’t smile," Honey Boo Boo continued. "She has a specific look for Sugar Bear."
"I kind of just want Mama and Sugar to get along and be civil so I can maybe see him and we can get supervised visits," Honey Boo Boo said, admitting that her dad's temper can be "frightening," but she still misses him.
As for Sugar Bear's wife, Jennifer, who is shown coming to June's door in a tease for the WE tv show, June said she doesn't know "what to think of her."
One thing June does know, however, is that her failed relationship with Sugar Bear isn't going to sour her new romance.
"We just take it one day at a time and have no expectations. I’m hoping that five years from now, we’re still together and happy," adding that her goal for From Not to Hot isn't much different.
"Our first show was an amazing journey, and wherever this roller coaster takes us [is the goal]," she said. "If it ends tomorrow, I’m grateful."
