Maren Morris Thankful for Her Marriage in Industry That's 'Tough' on Relationships (Exclusive)

Morris spoke to ET at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville Monday night.

Maren Morris is singing her marriage's praises. The "Circles Around This Town" singer spoke to ET's Rachel Smith at the 2022 CMT Music Awards red carpet Monday night where she said she feels like she hit the jackpot in her relationship with husband, Ryan Hurd.

"We've had years where it's been hard, and we are still trying to find that -- I think we are better now at finding the balance of home time and work time," Morris shared of her and Hurd, who share two-year-old son, Hayes. "We are better at standing our ground on our personal life than we used to be, because I think we earned it now, but no, we have our struggles, but I think that we love each other. I will always support his dream, his song writer dream and vice versa."

She continued, "And so I know we can kinda make it through anything, because this is a tough industry to stay married in and even find love in so, I feel like -- we hit the jack pot so everything else is like, clear skies."

Not only is Morris nominated, but she's also performing with Hurd at Monday night's show.

"We are performing our new song off my new record, it's called, 'Can't Love You Anymore,' and it's just a real love song, but it's funny and I'm so excited. It's my first time performing it live."

The song, Morris says, tells the story of their relationship, or as she called it, their "weird ass love story."

"It's easy. We've been together so long, we have a son that's two now so, we have our moments for sure that aren't rainbows and sunshine, but we just laugh our way through it because we know we are gonna be in this till the end, and we better get it together," Morris said of their relationship.

"And the song is exactly that," she added. "It's narrating our weird ass love story."

Not long after the show, Morris is hitting the road for her upcoming tour. As for what fans can expect, Morris said it's going to be "outdoorsy" and "vibey."

"Well, the majority of it the venues are amphitheaters, so it'll be outside," Morris shared. "We tried to keep it outdoorsy and vibey, 'cause the record is very much that,"

"It felt very nature-based cause we wrote the album in Hawaii, so, it just felt right to do these outdoor venues. It's gonna be so fun," she continued. "A lot of the new album will be showcased, but we will put some oldies and fan favorites in there and maybe a cover or something."

The 2022 CMT Music Awards air live, Monday, April 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS, and will also stream live on Paramount+. Check here for a full list of the night's big winners!
