Daniel Lissing Got ‘Glassy Eyes’ While Suiting Up as Jack Thornton on ‘When Hope Calls’ (Exclusive)

Daniel Lissing has a lot to celebrate this holiday season! Three years after the actor said goodbye to the role of Jack Thornton on ‘When Calls the Heart,’ he’s back in the red serge to portray the beloved Mountie on the spinoff film ‘When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas,’ premiering Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on GAC Family. Lissing opens up to ET’s Deidre Behar all about the experience of returning to the celebrated role. He says he got ‘glassy eyes’ when he put the uniform on again and stepped back on set. The Australian actor also reveals what it was like working opposite his former ‘WCTH’ co-star and close friend Lori Loughlin again. In fact, Lissing reveals it was Loughlin who called him to offer the part. While filming on set, Lissing shares that they FaceTimed their close mutual pal, ‘WCTH’ star Erin Krakow, who plays Thornton’s widow. Meanwhile, Lissing is starring in yet another holiday project, ‘A Christmas Star,’ premiering Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on GAC Family. He shares what it was like playing a dad on-screen for the first time, and how his real-life wife, Nadia, feels about expanding their family.
