WATCH: Robert Pattinson Chases Pie-Slinging Assassin

Robert Pattinson had a humbling experience in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday when he was hit in the face with a pie.

The event was all staged as Robert was shooting a scene for his new movie 'Cosmopolis', based on the novel by Don DeLillo.

In the video, a man strikes Robert with a pie just as the actor exits his limo dressed in a tuxedo. The man playing Robert's bodyguard immediately takes after the assailant as paparazzi gather around to capture the chase in still images. Eventually Robert loses his composure, taking after the man himself.

The novel covers one day in the life of multi-billionaire asset manager Eric Packer (Pattinson), who travels aimlessly through the streets of New York City in his limousine while conducting his daily investment trading from the backseat.

The movie is being helmed by legendary director David Cronenberg ('Videodrome') and co-stars Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti and Juliette Binoche.
