'Cowboys & Aliens' Neck & Neck with 'The Smurfs' at Weekend Box Office

No one saw this coming! As of today, 'Cowboys & Aliens' and 'The Smurfs' are tied at the box office.

Although the official numbers won't be in until Monday, the two movies are now at a draw with $36.2 million each.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Cowboys & Aliens' was expected to top 'The Smurfs' by a margin of at least $10 million.

Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling's comedy 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' debuted this weekend as well, landing in fifth place behind 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' with $19.3 million.

The final 'Harry Potter' flick reached a huge milestone, becoming the ninth movie in film history to pass $1 billion at the worldwide box office and making it the highest-grossing movie of the 'Harry Potter' franchise.
