Anne Hathaway may come across as fearless on screen, but the One Day star revealed that she wasn't always so confident at the movie premiere in New York on Monday.
"I'm not a naturally confident person," Anne admitted. "That's something that, looking back over time, has definitely developed for me."
The actress' new movie One Day is based on David Nicholls' bestselling novel of the same name that follows Emma Morley (Anne) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess), two friends who experience key moments of their relationship over several July 15ths.
Anne described the film as an "honest love story about two very interesting people." According to the Academy Award nominee, the flick should have a wide audience, saying, "If you've ever known heartbreak or if you've ever felt like you've done any growing up, I think this movie will speak to you."
One Day opens August 19.
