'The Help' Rises to Take 'Apes' Top Spot

Well, it was fun while it lasted. The triumphant run that Rise of the Planet of the Apes enjoyed at No. 1 is finally over as The Help assumes the box office throne.
In its second weekend in theaters, Emma Stone's The Help acquired $20.5 million, which was more than enough to surpass James Franco's Apes, which made $16.3 million over the weekend.
Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D had a soft opening with $12 million, while Conan the Barbarian limped into fourth place with $10.5 million.
