Kevin Bacon: I Went Undercover for 'Footloose'

The unforgettable '80s dance classic Footloose debuts on Blu-ray September 27 -- just in time to coincide with the all-new remake starring Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald, in theaters October 14.

In a special bonus feature on the disc, Kevin Bacon reflects on the 1984 film and reveals that he actually enrolled in high school as a 24-year-old to see if he could pull off playing a 17-year-old teen.

"One of the things I did as a research tool was I convinced the production to reach out to the local high school and ask them to enroll me," reveals Bacon. "It was, in a lot of ways, really kind of frightening to be thrown into a completely new culture and new group of people -- it was literally terrifying."

In Footloose, Bacon plays Ren, a city boy who moves to the country and tries to adjust to the slower pace, only to learn that dancing has been banned following a tragic accident a few years earlier.

The Footloose Blu-ray also includes a first-ever look at Bacon's original screen test, new interviews with Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker, a tribute to the late Chris Penn and more.
